LEAGUE COMPETITION

Redeemer competes in the Catholic League with the following schools (listed in alphabetical order):

  • Allen Park
  • Cabrini
  • Centerline
  • St. Clement
  • Detroit Benedictine
  • Detroit Bishop Borgues
  • Detroit Bishop Gallagher
  • Detroit Deporres
  • Madison Heights
  • Bishop Foley
  • Marine City
  • Cardinal Mooney
  • Riverview
  • Gabriel Richard
  • Wyandotte
  • Mt. Carmel
  • Several other teams have emerged in the last few years that are making the Catholic League very competitive. Among some of the new tough to beat teams include Royal Oak Shrine, Wyandotte Mt. Carmel and Madison Heights Bishop Foley.

    LEAGUE RIVALS

Among Redeemer's League rivals are Cabrini High School and Gabriel Richard High School. Cabrini is coached by Pat Offman, a long-time runner and friend of the Redeemer coaching staff. Pat's teams are well-prepared and tough to beat. Gabriel Richard is coached by Carl Knoll and has had a successful program for many years.

At the regional and state level, Redeemer's long-time rivals are Pittsford and Whitmore Lake. Both of these rivalries date back to 1991 when Redeemer first qualified for the State Championship race. At that time an issue arose between the Pittsford and Whitmore Lake coaches as to whether Redeemer had fairly qualified for the State Championship race. While the athletes of the Redeemer cross-country program have learned to forgive, forgetting would damper our competitive spirit. Thus, the Redeemer cross-country athletes look forward to running against the usually extremely tough to beat Pittsford and Whitmore Lake teams each year.
