Welcome to the 2005 season for Redeemer cross-country!
We have been practicing for several weeks and the boys and girls teams are looking good. Unfortunately our home course doesn’t look the same – it’s wrecked!
The recreation building, on the verge of condemnation, has been closed for a 2 year remodeling period – thus no water or bathrooms for the team. The City won’t cut the grass in the park so Coach Pat bought a riding lawnmower to cut a path through the weeds so we have somewhere to run. The upper portion/Dearborn end of the park (course) is fenced off and inaccessible due to a sewage overflow construction project. It doesn’t matter though – Redeemer cross-country always finds a way to succeed – where others would give up. We’re built tough and don’t make excuses…If way can’t find a way to win – we will make one!
The girls team – led by Senior Captain Johanna Fenton has almost 9 runners right now and the boys team, Led by Senior Captain Mike Stempien and Dave Romero has 10 runners. Our first official race is Monday, August 30th and we want you to visit our site often – we’ll have regular updates! As always – Vaya Con Dios!
