COACHES: CURRENT STAFF
Aguilar, Robert
Robert Aguilar graduated from Kalamazoo Central High where he ran cross-country and track in his freshman and sophomore years and trained as a boxer from ages 8 to 17 years old. Robert works for Ford Motor Company during the day and in his busy schedule coaches and spends time with his passion and first love for athletics: amateur boxing. Robert can usually be found in the Lincoln Park gym called “Casa De Boxeo” where Robert has coached several prominent local and national competitive level boxers.
Robert and his wife Belinda have 3 children who are all active in sports and great students as well. Robert’s school aged children attend Cesar Chavez and one of those children (Alex) run’s on the cross-country team. This is Robert’s first year coaching cross-country at Cesar Chavez. |
Bajor, Doug
Doug is a 1977 Redeemer graduate. He earned his BA from Michigan State University in 1981, and his MBA from the University of Detroit in 1989.
On top of being a Portfolio Manager with Comerica Bank, Doug is proud to say that he has completed an impressive 26 marathons to date. With over 24 years of first-hand running experience, Doug brings a wealth of much-appreciated skill & knowledge to us.
Doug started coaching athletes in cross-country running at Redeemer beginning in 1996.

Irwin, Pat
Pat graduated in 1982 from Holy Redeemer. He ran cross-country from 1980-81, serving as co-captain in 1981.
Patrick majored in Business Administration at Siena Heights College in Adrian, Michigan where he earned varsity letters in cross-country, indoor track and outdoor track.
In 1985, Patrick qualified for the NAIA national indoor track championships in the 600 Meter indoor race with a time of 1:15.9.
Patrick has a Masters in Industrial relations from Wayne State University and is employed as the Director of Employee relations for Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. Patrick first began coaching cross-country in 1986 at Redeemer High School and coached there until the school closed in the 2004- 2005 school year. Patrick was inducted into the Catholic League Coaches Hall of Fame in 2005 in honor of 19 years of work with the youth of Southwest Detroit. During Patrick’s time at Redeemer the cross-country team won League championships in ‘95, ‘96, ‘97, ‘99 and ’04; Sectional Championships in ’93, ’95, ’96, ’97, ’99, ’04; A Regional Championship in ’99 and qualified to run in the State Championship race for 13 consecutive years from 1992 to 2004.

Irwin, Erin
ERIN IRWIN is a 1990 graduate of Holy Redeemer; he ran cross-country all four years of high school, serving as captain for the 1988 and 1989 seasons. He continued to run 4 years of cross-country and track for Aquinas College, in Grand Rapids, MI, where he served as co-captain for the teams in 1992 and 1993. In 1994, Erin graduated with a degree in Business Administration, but not before qualifying for the 1994 marathon event of the NAIA Nationals held at Azuza Pacific University in Los Angeles. Erin is employed as a Manager of Economic Development - Wayne County. He completed his Masters in Business Administration from Wayne State Univeristy in May of 1999.

Maynor, Ron
Ron graduated from Holy Redeemer in 1977.
He is professionally employed as a field foreman and commercial sheet metal worker; he also teaches math part time at the Local 80 training center.
Ron is happily married to Angela Maynor, with whom he has two daughters.
He has run two marathons in his cross country career. Aside from motivating and coaching the runners for the past four years, he is also responsible for the team's extensive supply of Gatorade and other team needs throughout the year.
